Mike brings twenty years of management consulting, public accounting, nonprofit and media experience to the table.  He was an honors graduate from Loyola University where he earned the Outstanding Senior in Communications award.  Mike took a communications training role at Arthur Andersen’s Center for Professional Education, designing and producing educational and institutional videos to support global learning.

He moved to a training and communications role at the Inland Press Association where he helped key executives build their leadership, communications and revenue development capabilities.  Mike was involved in more than 50 major conferences and training events and was responsible for communications on business leadership, sales, team development, revenue generation and news writing/editing.

Mike returned to Arthur Andersen to train partners, managers, and broad industry teams how to cultivate prospect relationships and close engagement sales valued in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.  He then joined the CPA firm Ostrow Reisin Berk & Abrams, Ltd. as the firm’s marketing director, bringing business development and leadership coaching and training to the entire staff.  Mike helped the firm grow to be on Crain’s “Top 20” list of Chicago CPA firms.

On joining McKinsey & Co. Mike was responsible for leadership, communications and problem-solving skills training for thousands of consultants. He taught effective communications, professional presence, team leadership, challenging conversations, decision making, project leadership, strategic thinking, and other core consulting skills.

Most recently, Mike was head of learning and development for Prophet, a global marketing and branding consulting firm.  He was responsible for aligning the firm’s capability efforts with its mission and leading planning, designing and delivering programs for nearly 200 consultants firmwide.

Mike is a Senior Instructor at thoughtLEADERS.  He lives in Des Plaines, Illinois, with his nine year old son.  He has been a board member and volunteer for various nonprofit organizations.  Mike recently started taking bass guitar lessons and also dabbles in song lyrics and other forms of writing.
