Kurt is a leader with experience in Big 4 management consulting and in business school academics. After earning both a JD and MBA from the Ohio State University, Kurt joined Deloitte Consulting’s Strategy & Operations practice, where he focused on merger & acquisition integrations. During his time with Deloitte he worked in functional and project management roles on a number of high-profile mergers, including Bank of New York/Mellon, Fiat/Chrysler, Avaya/Nortel, and many others.
Kurt left Deloitte in 2010 to accept an Executive Director role at Ohio State’s Fisher College of Business, where he runs an organization known as Fisher Professional Services. In this capacity, Kurt oversees an organization of over one hundred MBA students and his mission is to supplement the academic experience of graduate business students with functional ‘real-world’ projects. At any given time, Kurt and FPS are completing up to ten projects that are structured and operated in a way that mimics external consulting organizations. Past satisfied clients include Emerson, JPMorgan Chase, Scotts Miracle-Gro, Rolls Royce, and numerous organizations within the Ohio State University to name a few.
With years of training and experience in project management, Kurt has developed a uniquely realistic and pragmatic approach to both leadership and project management. He regularly teaches these techniques to future business leaders in the MBA program. The programs he teaches are also a great refresher to current and rising business leaders within the corporate world. Kurt provides training in strategy, communication, and project management.
