An executive with more than 20 years of line management, consulting, and entrepreneurial experience, David graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 1991 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He joined the Calgon Carbon Corporation conducting technical sales to Fortune 1000 clients. After leaving Calgon Carbon, David enrolled at the Yale University’s School of Management to pursue his MBA with concentrations in supply chain management and human resources. David received the Citibank Award for Academic Excellence as one of the top three students of the class of 1997. David joined The Advisory Board Company in 1997 as a management consultant with the Health Care Practice. Across the next ten years he held a variety of roles with increasing responsibility at both ABC and its spinoff, the Corporate Executive Board. From 1997 to 2001, David served leading health care institutions in initiatives ranging from building physician partnerships to reengineering care delivery in the ER, OR, and pharmacy. David also led Supply Chain Practice teams serving Fortune 100 clients and helped build the firm’s Chief Procurement Officer practice. Next he served as Managing Director with the Human Resources Practice, the largest business unit within CEB. Focusing on building deeper relationships with Chief Human Resources Officers, the HR Practice more than doubled its revenue during his tenure. David co-led product development efforts for the launch of several successful new businesses while at CEB. After CEB, David founded Arete Associates, a professional coaching practice that helps rising executives develop their formal and informal communication skills. He also served as Senior Vice President of Infohrm (now part of SuccessFactors), the global leader in workforce analytics and planning software. In 2010, David returned to The Advisory Board Company to serve as Managing Director of Educational Services. He currently works with the C-suite and boards of directors at many of the country’s largest health systems, helping them develop and implement strategic change in the wake of national health care reform. David serves as a thoughtLEADERS Senior Instructor on topics of leadership, strategy and communications. |
