Scott earned his BS in Commerce with Distinction from the University of Virginia in 1993.  Upon graduation Scott joined the consulting practice of Deloitte & Touche where he served clients on cost management, business process reengineering and supply chain management engagements.  After, Deloitte Scott joined the Business Consulting practice of Arthur Andersen and provided turnaround/restructuring work as well as large scale ERP system support. 

In 1998 Scott received his MBA. from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth where he graduated as Tuck Scholar with High Honors.  After graduating, Scott joined Bain & Company as a consultant.  While at Bain, Scott served clients in a variety of industries on a range of issues (new business development, acquisition & divestitures, operations redesign, supply chain strategy, customer loyalty, corporate strategy).  Scott also served as a trainer in Bain’s global new hire training programs. 

In 2001 Scott joined Capital One in the Strategic Infrastructure practice where he led business unit turnaround and cost improvement projects delivering over $60MM in annual savings.  As a Senior Director in the Brand department, he created a new product marketing launch capability for the company as well as drove the marketing strategy for expansion into e-commerce and alternative marketing channels.  In this role Scott managed a team of over 50 associates and a P&L of ~$70MM. 

In 2006 Scott was hired by the private equity firm of Gores to help lead the turnaround efforts of a software developer, SER Solutions.  While at SER, Scott served in multiple roles, including CMO, and drove improvements both in core operations as well as the company’s marketing, product and sales areas.  He led the business through a successful exit and merger with Siemens Enterprise Communications.  He currently serves on the boards of several technology and new media start-ups.
